Audacity

After getting over my candy overdose from Halloween I started to play around some more with the free, easy-to-use audio editor called Audacity. It was relative easy to import music from I-Tunes and Soundzabound. It was a lot of fun cutting, splicing and mixing different sounds and music together. The special effects added a nice finishing touch to your final project. My students will have a blast working with this program.

After several tries, I finally figured out how to convert my recording into an MP3 file using the 'LAME' link Perri e-mailed us. My confidence level was up so I tried to download a sample of my recording into my blog but failed miserable. I contacted Perri and she suggested that the only solution to the problem of putting audio files into the blog is to make it a movie file. Perri recommended using PhotoStory or MovieMaker. Then import the audio file and add some images to the storyboard. Finally, save it as a movie. Our blog only accepts movie files, not just audio. Once I saved my file as movie I was able download it into my blog like a pro (thanks Perri!!). Check out my recording based on “A good example of design….”
