I have really enjoyed creating informative educational videos and would like to continue the process by including my students. In September, our entire school district will start using the new Microsoft Office 2007 software package. There are some notable changes from one version to another. I would like my students to create short video tutorials of different functions in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher. Each student will be responsible for five different short video that describe functions such as how to create tables, set margins, change decimal places, how to print, create folders, add transitions, etc. Students will use programs such as Jing or ScreenToaster to record and create a several screencasts. Student will peer edit one another’s work and provide constructive criticism for revisions. I would love for them to post their videos up on a blog or school webpage where other students and teachers can view the various videos. These videos are a great way for students to reinforce or learn new computer skills as well as provide instructional information to a larger audience.Tuesday, June 16, 2009
