It’s amazing how different some of the instructional videos are produced from one another. This was a great exercise to help us understand the strengths and weaknesses of creating an effective educational video and assist us in constructing our own video masterpiece!_____________________________

Video Title – Cookies
http://www.nextvista.org/cookies/
I thought this was a very boring video that instantly lost my interest. The speaking had very little eye contact because she was too busy reading from a script. The sound quality was decent but with a bit of an echo. There was good lighting but I wish she used some of the technology she was talking about. For example, when she mentioned that we should clear any cookies after using a public computer, it would have been a great opportunity to demonstrate how to clear cookies. Overall, it was basically a talking head video.

Video Title – Four-Point Lighting
http://www.nextvista.org/four-point-lighting/
I thought this was a very informative and well produced video. It had detailed examples of all four lighting types with various samples and sets. It has excellent sound quality, good background music, multiple sets and actors. The narration was simple, clear and easy to understand. There were nice transitions and good titles separating each section. A high quality video that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Video Title – How To Take A Good Photograph: Part 1
http://www.nextvista.org/how-to-take-a-good-photograph-part-1/
This was a nice how-to video that demonstrated step by step how to take a good photograph. I really liked how it showed “good” and “bad” examples of photographs for comparison and learning purposes. The lighting and video quality was good but her voice lacked enthusiasm for the subject.
